Wistful Winds Blog Hop!

Inspiration

I’m so thrilled to be part of the Wistful Winds blog hop today with the amazing Shari Butler and Riley Blake Designs! Shari’s candy-colored range had me at hello … and what a joy it’s been to play with these sweet prints!

This collection is full of whimsey and charm – and it has me dreaming of so many things to make, including little dresses. The main floral is just perfect to coordinate with the sweet smaller scale prints for something fun to twirl in – so I decided on a dress. The tiny yellow dots won me over for the collar and waist (and I can’t wait to use this print in all the colorways – it’s available in pink and multi dots, too!).

I love the vintage feel of a simple collared dress and waist in contrasting colors. The pattern used is called the Double Scoop dress by Little Lizard King. It’s a sweet pattern, which also includes lots of ways to personalize the dress and waist to make it unique. A special little girl will be receiving this dress for her upcoming birthday. I can’t wait to see her twirl around in it!

I adore the vibrant mix of colors in this range, and was pleased as punch to discover that my dress matched one of my favorite vintage finds that sits on my sewing table – a little dog with a wagging tongue (which has a secret measuring tape when you pull out his tongue). And of course, this dress called for fresh yellow flowers inspired by Shari’s beautiful florals.

Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me share my project with you. The lovely and talented Jodie Carleton is sharing her makes on the hop today too (and they are so sweet!).  It’s been so fun to follow along the blog stops. And Shari has designed the most delightful range – you will love it to pieces!

Please be sure to stop by each blog on the hop and see the beautiful things shared each day. I’m so inspired by these talented ladies! And Shari will be sharing her inspiration behind the line on the last stop, October 14th, which you don’t want to miss! Below is a link to each stop along the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by! xo Elea

Ohhhhh. Elea… This dress is just so delightful! I love all your photography, the description of the fabric, the collared dress and sash with the polka dots, and just everything! The Wistful Winds fabrics are just delightful! But…. I have to ask does that puppy really have a measuring tape as his tongue? What a treasure! Where did you find such a sewing stuffy antique? Everything is just beyond charming and I can’t wait to stitch with my Wistful Winds by Shari at Doohickey Designs! Yea! Thanks for inspiring us all!
