The coming fall season is my favorite time of year! Halloween, Thanksgiving, family and friends. Celebrations and laughter and fall sweaters … oh how I long for fall sweaters in this Arizona heat. I’ve been feeling nostalgic for fall recipes, pumpkin pie and the feeling of the crisp autumn air and colors, especially since the sweetest new fabric line arrived called, Calico Crow, by the talented, Lauren Nash for Riley Blake Designs.
The pumpkin orange, hazels, pale yellows and cocoa-colors make my heart so happy! I’m thinking of endless fall projects and decorations and a comfy quilt to wrap around me on porch swing (now only if I had a porch swing … shucks, but a girl can dream, right?).
I’ve been working on a new quilt pattern featuring birds (part of some exciting news I’ll be sharing with you soon!) and when I spotted the darling little crows in this line – I knew it was a perfect fit to test a bird block. With autumn near, I thought it would be fun to turn the block into something comfy and decorative for our family room.
I turned my bird block into a decorative pillow. And, now I’m really in the fall spirit! I even picked up some market roses in a pumpkin color – all that’s missing is the aroma of an apple pie baking. Lauren’s darling fabric gives me all the autumn feels!
And a quick close up of the roses. I think flowers are so pretty and special. If I had it my way, there’d be a vase of fresh flowers in nearly every room of my house.
I hope this post gets you excited for fall, too! The traditions of the season, the decor, the smells – Oh I am patiently waiting for you fall. Lauren’s darling new fabric line – Calico Crow – is arriving to stores now. It is definitely one for hoarding and making sweet treasures.
