Today I’m sharing red, white and blue inspiration from beautiful Riley Blake Designs fabric! The kids and I are putting together a few little surprises to send to their grandparents. We haven’t been able to visit this summer and it’s been hard on all of us. I’m making a few handmade items I know their grandma will use.

My red, white and blue fabric is from the Riley Blake Design basics collections in swiss dots, stripes and gingham. I might be a little biased, but I think Riley Blake’s range of basics are amazing! I use the swiss dots in so many projects, but hoard them all!

I use tea towels a ton in my house. I found these nice, big flour sack dish towels that I love on Amazon. So I thought I would personalize one for my mom in her favorite colors. My mom still has tea towels in her kitchen gifted to her from her mother. I think this will be a nice addition to her collection and tea towels are so fun and easy to make.

I appliquéd little hearts on the tea towel in an assortment of Riley Blake’s basics and embroidered Bless this home on it. This is one of my favorite sayings for tea towel gifts and I know my mom will love it, too.

This was a super quick little gift to make. I’m going to send it with a fresh batch of cookies and a handmade card from the kids. I’m thinking of making this tea towel design into a tutorial and pattern. Send me a note if you’d like a template to make one of your own. Have a blessed week, friends! Stay safe.
So So Cute!! And yes those basics are the Best!!!
Your mom will be so touched!💙❤️
Thank you for the sweet words, Kim! Hope you are well, friend.
Love your idea
Thank you for the sweet message, Lynn.
I love it! Which size towel do you use? A tutorial would be appreciated.
I said tutorial. Meant template!!
Hi Julie, These are 33 x 38″ flour sack dish towels I got on Amazon. Thank you for the sweet note and for stopping by! I’ll post a template shortly.
Hi. I love your sweet tea towels and if you decide to do a tutorial, I would love to have it. I am still working on my very first quilt top. Thank you for sharing your precious work.
