I’ve been turning off the news and pouring myself into books lately. It’s reigniting my creativity and whisking my mind away to a happy place!
I have a special book to share that I know you’ll love as much as I do. My dear friend Kristyne Czepuryk of Pretty by Hand wrote a wonderful new pattern book, Perfectly Pretty Patchwork, that makes my heart sing!

I’ve been a longtime fan of Kristyne’s beautiful work so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Perfectly Pretty Patchwork. There is so much to love about this book, but one of my favorite things is the way Kristyne organized all the designs in the book into pairs to include one quilt and one non-quilt project from the same traditional motif. Kristyne shows makers how to create stunning quilts and then how to turn the same motifs into another unique projects, like pin cushions, tote bags, pouches and more. Genius, right?!

It was really hard deciding which project to start first. This brings me to another thing I love about this book. All the projects are really special! You can tell Kristyne poured her heart into each project, creating a book that is delightful from cover to cover.

I decided to start with the charming pillow design made from the Irish Chain Quilt pattern in the book. Kristyne’s pink version of this quilt is to die for (you won’t want to miss the photos of it in the book) – so I was excited to give it a try!

And look who stopped by to check out my new pillow. Rosie girl.

I was up with the chickens this morning making a grocery run, so I treated our home to some fresh flowers AND a pretty new pillow. I’d say the day is off to a great start, right?

I used blue fabrics in varying shades from my Bluebirds on Roses and Milk & Honey fabric collections with Riley Blake Designs. Blue has quickly jumped to the top of my favorite color list lately. What about you? I also modified my pillow size slightly to fit a smaller pillow form I had on hand.

I love the way the pillow turned out and can’t wait to try another project from Perfectly Pretty Patchwork. Thank you so much to Kristyne for sharing your creative talents with us all in this book.
Kristyne’s book is heading to shops now and what a good time to destress and create something pretty. Please also stop by to visit the other creatives (posted on the first image) sharing projects and inspiration from this book.
Hope you’re having a good week. Take good care of yourself and stay healthy, Elea
Kristyne Czepuryk is a great designer. I have many of her fabrics and always loved reading her blog, Pretty by Hand. I wish she still was blogging regularly; I always looked forward to what she showed and had to say. It’s nice to hear that she has authored a new book and the designs she has in it are perfectly lovely.
