Thank you for stopping by my blog with the Penny Rose & Riley Blake Designer Blog Tour. My name is Elea Lutz and I am over-the-moon excited about designing with Penny Rose Fabrics. Working with this talented group has been a dream come true. I’ve been drawing and making things since I was a child and it’s beyond magical to see my designs spring to life on fabric and do work that I truly love. My debut collection, Milk, Sugar & Flower, is coming this January! I can’t wait to play with the fabrics and have been dreaming of lots of projects to make.
Most of my designs are inspired by my childhood and the days spent watching my mother and grandmother sew, embroider, knit, cook and make so many things from their hearts and hands. I also find joy in playful illustrations of birds, bunnies and kittens or most any little creature along with lots of colorful flowers. The name, Milk, Sugar & Flower, was inspired by the grocery lists my grandmother would make and carry with her to the store. Her lists almost always included Milk or flour, then a variety of other things, like sugar or butter and so on. She was an amazing cook and we shared an insatiable sweet tooth (I’ll post her cinnamon rolls recipe one day … whoa!). Milk, Sugar & Flower sprouted from those memories and the idea of mixing sweet little things with lots of colorful flowers (or, in my Grandma’s lists – flour). You’re welcome to view the complete collection at Penny Rose Fabrics.
The other big inspiration in my life is my two children. Their laughter, curiosity, energy and joy means the world to me and overflows into everything I do. They play a big role in the playful prints that are often in my work.
While we’re talking fabric, I also want to share a second fabric collection I have coming up in 2015 with Penny Rose called Little Joys. It’s a Christmas collection full of dancing reindeers, wreaths, candy canes and lots of sweet things enjoyed during the holidays. You can see that entire collection here. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I can’t wait for this collection to arrive, too!
Thank you so much for stopping by! It was so much fun to design these collections and I hope you enjoy them, too!
Here’s a link to the designers on this tour. I’ve been stopping by every day and just melting over the talent and eye-candy! I feel honored to be included on a list with such amazing ladies. I hope you’ve had a chance to hop over, too! Next up on the tour is Sibling Arts Studio.

Can you please tell me your fabrics are sold. What stores carry them. I live in MI.
Hello there, Cathy!! I’m not sure of all the brick and mortar shops quite yet. There are a number of online shops for sure (some are taking pre-orders, too). A few include Fat Quarter Shop, Fortworth Fabrics, Faith Love Fabric, The Merry Homemaker, Janum, Gather Fabrics and Mad About Patchwork. I’m hoping to learn more and more about the shops carrying the line when it arrives. I hope this helps a little bit. 🙂 Appreciate you stopping by with interest in the line.
