Hello there. I am delighted to be a part of the Riley Blake Designs Quilt Market Blog Tour to share my upcoming fabric line, Little Joys! Last week I had the opportunity to go to Quilt Market in Minneapolis. This was my very first market and something I had been dreaming of forever. I had the best time and came home feeling excited for things ahead, especially for the release of Little Joys! This line will be arriving to stores very soon (June! yay!). The collection was showcased at Market in the Penny Rose Fabrics’ booth and I’d love to share some of the beautiful projects made with this line for Market, as well as a few tidbits about my inspiration for the collection.

When I was designing this collection, I thought about all the sweet treasures and traditions the Christmas season brings. For me, Christmas is the most magical time of year. It has always been my favorite holiday, even as a child. Gathering with friends and family, baking sweets, candy canes, Christmas songs, handmade gifts, decorating the Christmas tree – all those details I cherish was poured into this collection. My fondest memories were sitting with my Grandmother watching her make handmade treasures for her grandchildren, and decorating the Christmas tree with my mother pondering over every glistening ornament. I wanted the collection to be timeless and cheerful, and at the same time evoke those super exciting, i-can’t-stand-the-wait feeling of Christmas I remember as a child. I also incorporated classic Christmas colors of red and green into this collection, but added a heaping mix of pink for a cheerful twist on the traditional colors, too.
