Happy New Year! I hope you’re off to a year full of adventure and heaps of good things ahead. This month is particularly exciting for me as the debut of my first fabric collection, Milk, Sugar & Flower, is scheduled to arrive to shops. It’s been such a wonderful journey creating the line and the waiting has been – well … nail biting, because I’m just so darn excited! I had an opportunity to play with a sample of the fabric last month and it’s been so fun dreaming up things to make in my studio and with friends.
This little pinny is just one of the pieces created by a talented, sweet gal, Roberta, in the pink magpie fabric. How darling is she? My heart skipped a beat when I saw her in this pinafore!
There are also some amazing projects being shared over on instagram from some super talented ladies. Grab a cup of tea and meet me over there, will ya? I’d love to say hello! If you search for #pennyrosefabrics or #milksugarandflower on instagram you won’t believe your sweet little eyes! Wow!
Amy of NanaCompany has created some super precious pieces with the line (if you haven’t been introduced to Amy … whoa! She makes the sweetest things!). I also spotted a gorgeous tiny square quilt made with the collection by Jemima of Tied with a Ribbon. Jemima is wildly talented, too! And oh my … I spotted sweet little doll dresses in Milk, Sugar & Flower by Minki Kim on the most adorable dolls. All of Minki’s creations are just so lovely, too! I don’t want to miss a thing. Please tag me if you spot something.
As a designer, my biggest hope for Milk, Sugar & Flower is that it would sprinkle a little more joy into the world. Seeing creations with the line certainly sprinkle a heavy dose of joy on me!
I am leaping into this new year with a heart full of gratitude and so much excitement for the things ahead. I am grateful for the opportunity to do work that I truly love and in the company of the kindest, most encouraging people, ever. Wishing you a year full of joy and creative adventures, too! Hugs.
