Liberty florals make me happy. I am excited for the release of Liberty’s newest collection with Riley Blake Designs, Flower Show Spring. A beautiful palette of pastel colors pulled together with hues of blue. It’s gorgeous!

I wanted to make something classic with these beautiful fabrics. I’ve always adored the simplicity of the children’s quilts in Grandma’s quilt closet. A sweet appliqué or two paired with traditional patchwork to showcase beloved fabrics. I played with ideas and created a fun and easy dog appliqué quilt that reminded me of the treasures at Grandma’s house. I’m tickled to introduce you to: D is for Dog. A cheerful and quick quilt project that I think you’ll enjoy!

I had so much fun making this precious quilt. Cheerful little dogs with their big pink bows. I know a few children that would love this quilt, but I think I’m going to keep this one for myself. 🙂 I love pairing classic florals with darling animals. I’m an animal-loving gal, for sure. For my dogs, I chose black ears and white bodies. Rosie, our Sheepadoodle, was my color inspiration. The dogs could be any color you’d like, even a little faux fur or wool felt would be darling. My Rosie girl is pictured below.

I hope my D is for Dog quilt brightens your day. I had a ball creating this fun quilt in my sewing room. I stitched it up while binge watching the new Apple TV series Truth be Told. I’m always up for a good crime thriller and this was a good one! And I love Octavia Spencer (wasn’t she amazing in The Help!). Anyway, I digress … but it was truly sewing therapy after a long week. The icing on the cake was when my youngest son came in and noticed the finished quilt and said, “This is my favorite one you’ve made, mom. It looks like Rosie” That made me smile.

I purchased a pattern called little joys quilt along. Can I reproduce this for profit? Some for profit at church and some for profit on my own?

Hi Claudine, The Fat Quarter Shop owns the copyrights to that pattern. It can be found here https://www.fatquartershop.com/little-joys-quilt-along-pdf-quilt-pattern
Any requests for reproducing the pattern should be sent to them. If you are asking about selling handmade quilts created from the pattern, I’m sure it would be ok to sell your quilts (but I would double check with FQS). Thank you for for stopping by. Let me know if I can help answer any further questions.
